Round shapes come up a lot in a Filipino New Year: the twelve round fruits on the Media Noche table, coins in the pocket, polka dots on the outfit. Dots carry over to nails easily. Gold dots on white or nude, black and white dots, or one small gold stud on each nail all say it without a picture being painted.
Glitter and chrome do the rest. A full gold or silver glitter set is the loudest. A glitter French or a glitter fade at the tips gives the same sparkle on a nail you can keep into January. Chrome in champagne, rose gold or pearl looks expensive in photos and quiet the week after, which matters if the set has to last.
