Aura nails
An aura nail has a soft blur of colour in the middle that fades out toward the edges, like a light behind the polish. Twenty-four below, in single colours, two-tone glows and a few with chrome or a cat eye on top.

The glow is built in layers. A base goes on first, usually milky white, sheer nude or black, and the centre colour is blended outward until there is no hard edge. Some technicians use an airbrush, others a sponge or a brush. Ask when you book how yours will be done.
The base decides how loud it is. On a sheer nude the glow sits close to your own nail colour and reads soft, which suits short nails and work. On milky white the colour looks brighter. On black it looks like a light shining through the nail, and that is the one for a night out.
On brown skin the warm glows, peach, coral, caramel and burgundy, blend with the hand, and the cool ones, blue, teal and lilac, stand out from it. Both work. Pick by whether you want the nails to go with the outfit or to be the point of it.
